We had a fun trip this morning. It was great fishing with these guys again. We had a blast. We ended up with 29 keepers out of around 60 caught and let another 10 or so get loose at the boat that were good keepers. All the fish were caught on jigs.
I also had an evening trip today with Randy and his 79 year old dad and his dads lady friend. Martha is in her early 70's and has never been fishing before in her life. It was so funny she just whooped up on them guys catching 20 herself. Man she is hooked on crappie fishing now. We ended up catching 32 keepers this afternoon out of around 60 caught. All the fish were released this afternoon they are from Kentucky and could not take fish back on the plane. I wish I had pics from this afternoon but I didn't have my camera in the boat. Randy said he would email me some he took so maybe I can post them later.
Congrats to all today on some good catches.
Cliff

Stucky & Fishwhisperer with the 29 keepers from this morning.

Nope, we caught a bunch on the FM 3002 bridge in 13 to 15 feet of water. Also we got a bunch on brush piles 15 to 25 feet...LOTS of throwbacks too...

Yep, definitely getting with a friend (or two) sometime this Summer with Cliff to hit those brush piles, because it's always a fun trip with him.

Good to know they're going back to deeper waters. I think EM got more screwed up from the rain though, and they may be late spawning there probably like the 'Vine.

Glad y'all had fun!

Yeah, thanks again Cliff! That was a great trip! I had a blast once again. Couldn't have asked for better weather. Could've asked for better hooksets though! bang Can't wait until the next time! Hopefully you'll have a better scale, 'cause there's no way that slab you caught wasn't a 2lber! flehan

Whenever you're ready Jim, just let me know! Good times man...good times...

Jase if weather is good, we should do good Monday. Im looking forward to fishing with yall. I had the day off today. I had to go to a family reunion. I would have been disowned by my parants if i missed it. It was good to see some of my family I havn't seen in a while.

Cliff/All,

Weather won't be a problem, as long as you don't mind the HEAT! Pushing well into the 90s this week, so the first signs of Summer are at hand and the trees, bridge pilings, and brush piles on RR should be hoppin' with crappie now that the spawn is over.

Like I said, Cliff. I'll be setting up a trip with you probably next month with either Kyle or another buddy of mine I grew up with fishing. Until then, I'm ready for the slabs to seek shade at our EM slips. Seems like they're slowly coming back in.
