I have 8 of the flush mount type from bass pro and have not had any problems as of yet with them. They come with the side rail mount. But I was unable to use the side rail mounts on my boat so I went with the flush mounts. All I fish for is cats now so don't know about the crappie fishing with them.

Looking to install some rod holders on my boat. Been looking at the Atwoods, Berkley's, Bass Pro, and the Action Outdoor rod holders. Anybody have experience with these? I'll be using 'em for cattin' and crappie. I like the price on the Action Outdoor ones, but was afraid they might be of the same quality as the price might lead me to believe. I don't really like any of the "wire" style ones (Bee Ready's, Driftmasters, etc.). If you know of others that are good, let me know. I do know they need to have an available side mount or rail adapter.
