I use a 6'6" MH with Mod Fast tip in a spinnig rig. Works great and a very productive technique.

Well I am using a couple of 7' medium actions right now...just not super pleased with them...I am looking for a rod builder to customize one...but I think about a 6'10" medium with some backbone is gonna be what I lean towards

Falcon Lowrider Shaky Head Rod. 6'-10" MH Power 4 Spinning Rod paired up with a Shimano Symetre Reel with Berkley 100% 10# Florocarbon. Really like this setup. That would work for me too. I also use a Falcon Lowrider weightless worm rod, LFS-5-167. That is a 6'7" spinning rod with lots of power and a soft tip. I use 20# braid with a few feed of 10# flouro leader. Been an awesome set up for me.

I absolutely love the Dobyns 682C for my shakey head fishing. I match it with a Daiwa Exceler baitcasting reel with 8 or 10 lb Sunline Sniper FC. Personally, I really like using the baitcasting set up rather than spinning gear if I can. It works best when fishing in shallow water and/or shallow sparse weeds/cover. The sensitivity from this rod and the action you can give the bait is really what has helped me catch more fish on the shakey head rigs.

I am with you on the baitcaster, I use spinning when fishing ultra clear water or when skipping the bait

Falcon Lowrider Shaky Head Rod LFS-4-1610(LFS-4-1610), diawa tierra 2500 spinning reel, 8lb p-line flourocarbon. I'm suprised some use braid on these setups seems like it defeats the purpose since I use it primarily as a clear water setup. Its a sweet setup but never had much luck on it until today.

I've been using a shimano crucial drop shot rod with a johnny morris sig reel but I broke the rod at cedar creek today so I guess I'm in the market for a new one.

Aaron, There is a lifetime over the counter warranty on the Crucial Series. Just take it back to any place that sells the crucial and pick up your new one. Easy as 1,2,5!!!!
