Took a week off after teaching a photo workshop in Carmel last week- did the Delta, Clearlake, and the Delta again and ended back at a hometown lake, Hodges; had a blast to say the least. Here are a few pix...
Second bass of the day at the Delta, Frank's Tract, came on the buzzbait, a nice 5.10 pound lunker.
Got three nice ones on the buzzbait the first afternoon
at Clearlake, a 4.5, a 4 and a 3.9. Had a 7 or 8# try at 8 p.m., right at the boat too, just as I brought the lure out of the water. All I saw was the business side of a huge mouth come out of the depths straight up and at me, too cool. Found out the next day from most folks that the bite was tough, that no one had been getting them on buzzers yet, and that the bite sucked (rain and cold, hot, rain, etc). Sorry, I did not know.

Friend Tom Leogrande took me under his wing, and on his Legend boat, and taught me so many patterns at his 'secret spots'. He had six before I got my first... thanks Tom.

Finished back at Frank's on the Delta where I saw that giant sea lion that came up near my boat nearly scaring me to death, and then watched it eat 20# carp like snacks.
