They still are on Fork, and several other lakes in this area. So yes, I would believe it to be true.

Very much still spawning and will be until June this year probably. Spring is way, way late and so is the fish progression. Someone said the other day the fish are playing marco polo. I believe them.

Personally, I love it because I'm a heck of a lot better at power fishing and running after then than sitting on deep holes and waiting for them to eat.

for me i figure its the best of both worlds....you have your post and pre spawn fish together...good solid chunky fish and big kicker females....

Smaller lakes north of dallas/ft.worth the spawn is about over, but the larger lakes ive hit lately (ray bob, lewisville, cooper and texoma) the fish are still spawning. Still catching females with eggs in deeper water, whch means theres still more coming!!

I would belive it as well. I fished a pond in Grapevine last weekend and I watched a spawning pair chase bluegills away. I fished them with everything I have in my bag and could NOT get them interested.

I think I know the fish you are talking about. If it is the same place there is another pair next to them. I hooked the bigger one but it came off right in front of me. Try casting to them from a distance.
