How did you do? I wish I could've gone but had to work this morning. Thinking about going tonight.

Pretty good for numbers and topwater bite, Had about 25 most were just13 or 14 inches. Bite died about midnight (it got cold and I took a break 'til about 5am, then the topwater bite was back on. Some came on tiki sticks, but most took the frog.

Sounds like a good time. Did anyone else show up? I was going tonight but went out to load the kayak on the truck and found out my daughter borrowed my truck. My wife failed to tell me about that. Surprise!
Muttley and I went up there last Monday and had a pretty good day.
Have you ever been up there and had the guys up the hill start shooting there guns? They do it constantly. A couple of times the bullets buzzed our heads. I hope it was a ricochet and not on purpose.

Hey Rick,

Yep, I've had that happen on many an occasion. Unsettling, to say the least.

Hey Fish,
How have you been?
Yes it is unsettling. I think they do it just to mess with people fishing out there. Muttley and I were out there 2 Mondays ago in the rain and they came out shooting. I think I'm gonna start wearing my helmet and kevlar out there. Ha.

Yep, they were shooting Sat night too, but at least this time the shells weren't hitting the water! The duck hunters are my favorite, man they don't take to kindly to having there decoys snagged by a buzzbait.

Why don't you guys call the local authorities when this happens?

Good question. While unnerving, though, I don't think I've had any bullets hit nearby or whiz overhead, so I don't think it would be illegal.

Muttley and I were out there one time and the bullets started buzzing around us. I yelled over to the guys to check their fire. That was met with profanity. So we did call the sheriff and they came out and said they would talk to them about it. Obviously it didn't help. I don't mind them shooting I just don't like being the target.
I went to Clear Lake one morning before the sun came up and I thought I was the only one out there. I was fishing for a couple of hours and the sun came up and three ducks flew in and it was like the Fourth if July. All around me these guys opened up on the ducks. I had no idea they were there until then. The ducks flew around for a while and flew away. All the while these guys were blasting away at them. It was funny. I thought if all those guys couldn't hit the ducks I should be safe so I kept fishing. ha

What's the deal with the parks department taking all the trash cans away? They are just begging people to trash the lakes. I went to Black Creek last week and there were cans all over the camp sites. Pathetic!!!

That bothered me too, and they put up signs saying "pack out your trash" or something like that. C'mon, folks are much more likely to just use a trash can. Must have been getting too expensive, heck I'd be more than happy to pay $5 bucks to fish out there to help them pay for upkeep, gotta do it at all the state parks anyway.
