Thought you guys might want the first look at the new weapon from Abu Garcia.

This reel very well could win Best of ICast in 2008.

What do you guys think?

I love my Revo's, but won't be dropping $279.99 anytime soon on one. I'll stick with the SX's and STX's, until the state of Texas gives teachers a bigger salary increase. Coach

i have a revo sc. i am very happy with it. they handle great and are very smooth. the only thing bad i see about the skeet reese reel is the price. thats a little steep. but you get what you pay for i guess.

The revos are good reels. I have fished mine salt and fresh with no complaints. I think ABU is making a stretch with the price, but i suppose they have to if they want a piece of the high end market. We'll see what happens at I Cast

Wow that is a sick reel. Yall have to understand that that is the Premier baisically with 11 bearings. The Premier sells for 256 so adding another 5 bearings to a reel and making us pay another 23 dollars is not that much to ask. Its going to be a great reel I need to pick a couple of them up wow.

Don't see the specs for this reel.

How do you know it's a 'beefier' Premier?

Is it made in China or Korea?

Ok here's the deal. The Premier is a 6 bearing 6.7 ounce aluminum framed reel (the lightest aluminum frame on the market). At first I thought it was just a beefed up premier but its a reel all in its own. This reel because of its weight and the number of bearings makes me believe it is made of Magnesium. Therefore the price for this reel is actually quite good especially if you look at the price of a Diawa Steez or the other light weight Magnesium reels. This is just my take on it and I dont know if its the truth or not. I have not seen this reel on Abu Garcia's website and I haven't heard of bass pro (I work there) getting this reel. I hope that we see it soon and they dont just make a limited supply of them because I do believe it will be an unbelievable reel.

I actually believe it is one of ABU's Japanese models of the Revo Elite.

Thanks for the welcome LegendRick - I have been around here for a while from time to time. I just don't chime in much because I don't know a whole lot about Texas Fishing.... And I certainly don't want to "Mess with Texas" smile

Maybe I should change my name to LegendTom - cause I'm a Legend guy myself! Love the boats, the company and the people that make it all happen down there in Arkansas!

I just wanted everyone who wanted to, to get a look at the new reel.

I myself am a Quantum guy and for those of you who think the Skeet is too much .... Here's a smokin' deal

Quantum Energy $69.99 (after mail in rebate $119.99 with $50 rebate)
(Reg. $189.99)
http://www.outdoorproshop.com/Quantum-E760-E761-E770PT-Reels-p/quantum-energy_series_bc_reels.htm

Now I don't want to make this it's own thread - that would be a little too much advertising, but if any of you want to share this smokin' deal with the other TFF members please feel free to do so.
