The Optimist Club of Grand Prairie and Vought Bass Club has scheduled the 4th annual Big Bass Bonanza at Joe Pool Lake for May 17th, 2008 at Lynn Creek Park. There will be a $40 entry fee per person with hourly paybacks. The overall big bass for the tournament will be awarded $1600.00 cash. Where else can you fish for $40, launch for free, get a shirt, have a good meal from Applebees, over 100% payback with all the door prizes and at the same time be supporting the youth of the community.

Bring your kids and sign them up for the DFW Bassmasters 2nd Annual Kids Tournament going on at the same time with no entry fee. We have some nice door prizes donated by local businesses for kids only.

What time does it start and end

Take off time will be at 7am. Be there early to register and livewell checks.
I would recommend to come in the last 10 or 15 minutes of each hour to weigh your fish because you will have to sit on stage till you get bumped.
The final hourly weigh-in line closes at 3pm.
If you're a minute late to each hourly, you will have to wait till the next hour.
Every year illegal sized fish are brought in. Mouth closed,tail pinched.

how deep is the grass?

grass(hydrilla) starts at about 3 ft and will grow in Joe Pool up to about 8 or 9 ft, maybe deeper in some areas. I havent been there yet this year but it should be getting pretty close to the surface.
The official measuring board is the Check It Stick.

what time is registration?

Register any time before 7 if you are fishing the Big Bass Bonanza, however the kids tournament we will allow late entries up to 10am.
