The Ark-La-Tex Sportsman Outdoor Show will be comeing down to cover the event

Please come out and support our troops at the first Take a Soldier Fishing Tournament on Toledo Bend July 12th 2008.

The first 40 boaters to sign up will be taking a soldier returning from Iraq out for a fun day of fishing.

There will be a drawing for partners Friday evening at 8:30 pm.

6:00am Saturday morning with weigh-in at 3:30pm.

There will be a Fish Fry immediately following the weigh-in.


We are also looking for sponsors to help, make this tournament a great experience for our Soliders... Anything you would like to donate, we would greatly appreciated...

I met Wesley and his brother today at the Bass Master Weekend Series on Toledo Bend, both these young men seem to be working very hard to get this project off the ground. I was told by my tournament manager and the owner of the American Bass Anglers that we are going to be able to use the weigh in trailer for this tournament. I also spoke to Andrew Upshaw and his father who are also on board with making this event the best Toledo Bend has ever seen. I am very honored to be apart of this project and I look forward to getting these fine men and women on the lake for some sure enough south east Texas/South west Lousiana fishing. We are in the process of getting some top shelf sponsors on board for fantastic prizes that will be given to the boaters and the soliders. I will mention some top brand names as soon as I have them confirmed, until then mark your calender and be apart of this special event.

Okay put this old veteran on the list as a boater. I'll be glad to help with this one.

Team Hillbilly Fishing will also make a donation as well. These Soldiers deserve a day on the water.
