Well I guess they finally got enough water for the crops in the valley.
Truth be known I like the way the lake fishes from 30 to 40 ft low but 15ft low is fine.
The water temps are in the lower to mid 70's which is operating temperature for these bass.
The grass is really starting to grow shallow and deep.
I bet we will be flippin' grass by June.
Today we didn't fish any deeper than 5ft, and after we had arrived at the first spot I didn't start the big motor until we came in at 3:30. We had 86 bass with several 3 to 5lb fish. Everthing we fished we got bit on, but most were on swimbaits (basstrix type) Vixens and wacky senkos. There were several wolf packs trying to get the bait out of the others mouth through out the day.
It was one of the most action filled days in a while.
One of my other guides fished with in sight of us all day and had the same results with a fish over 8lbs, but they were fishing 3/16th oz Tru Tungsten Tx. rigged senkos from 15 to 20 ft.
The blue gill have moved in to spawn thats what is holding the shallow fish, there are also thousands of small 3" blue gill out over that deeper grass.
I have had some sucess cranking lately, most of the deeper grass and bushes are DD depth.
1/2 blades in the shallow water has been great with wind and clouds.
It really doesn't matter what you fish cause they are post spawn hungry and bunched up.
