After Yesterdays 20 trout limit, Brother "B" and I wanted to see if we could do it again. We opted to hit it first thing in the morning instead of noonish like yesterday. 6:30am wake up, Brother "B" motors the boat to me casa, and off we went.
Pulling out of the canal, we see what looks like an easy slam.

Off to "five fingers" we go. By the time we get there, (couple minutes), The wind started to show. No big deal, but it was more out of the west this morning. (SE yesterday). We had to anchor a little differently today to cast into the fingers. 30 minutes into the gig, we had nothing to show and the wind was starting to realy blow. After a few more tries, we bailed the fingers. We hit the "sailboat" hole, with the same results...NADA. "#7" hole...NADA....wind is cranking. Ended up on a backside of a spoil bank over looking CC bay to get away from the wind. Water looked good, so we anchored. A few casts and still nothing. We took a break to watch a big cargo ship loaded down, and under some major throttle. As soon as it passed, I see this mack daddy wave coming across the bay! Holy [censored]! Lets get the heck outa here!

We ended up by the Keiwit plant in some protected water. It looked good.

NADA....NADA....NADA...
Within a few casts, here comes the front. Wind shifted, and we could see the rain heading our way. Didn't take much thinking to get back to the casa and call it a day. We where home by 10:00am.
11:30am, Brother "B"'s wife and son headed off for church. The rain had stopped, but the wind was still cranking in full force. What the heck, it sucks looking at water and not fishing, so we headed out again.
Started out by the Navy base flats....NADA...then went to the "sailboat" hole...NADA...."#7" hole... NADA... "white fence ditch" ...NADA.... the "wraparound"... NADA.... the "tube"... NADA... the "De-mag"... NADA.
So we call it a day. Wet from the choppy bay ride, wind burnt, and just tired of not catching, we are zipping back to the casa.
Along the way home, brother "B" wanted to see what it was like at the place where the monster wave chased us off. As soon as we made a right, we headed around "horseshoe" and thought, "hey, we had not fished this in a long time, and it's protected".
2:00pm we anchor in "horseshoe" BAM, It's on. In no time we had a half dozen or so in the box. Pulled anchor, drifted a casting distance, reset. BAM! another half dozen. Same thing, pull up anchor, drift a casting distance, reset. BAM! more fish! we repeated this several times with the same results. I wanted to take a break, so I opted to count the fish. 1...2...3..ect 18...19...20...21...Holy [censored] Bro, we are one over! There where several freshly caught and we released the one that was making most of the commotion in the box.
We teether the Sand Eels and head home once again with another 20 trout limit!
3:45pm we are in our boat slip. NICE change of luck.
Gerty was so excited that she came in the boat to see what we had.

40 trout in two days, and both limits came under 2 hours. WoW. I wish I could do that more often.

Life is good!
Until next time.
