Couldnt find any one to go yesterday so i went by myself.Lots of people on the lake looked like most were fishing for perch.my dad showed up around noon and i picked him up at the ramp fished several spots moust were small but came home with 16 that were between 10 and 10.5 inches long nothing huge but still nice perch.we ran out of worms about 4 oclock and crappie nibles and gulp didnt produce. My dad said they were the biggest perch he ever caught i tried to tell him that they get alot bigger there maybe we will go agin soon and he will find out just how big they get at fairfield. 10 inches is a great perch for most places but if you realy want to see a giant perch make the trip. i will let you know after the next trip.

We fished out their today from 8:30 till 1:30. Brought home 64 nice ones with several close to 11 in. all on live crickets. Leave the worms in the fridge. Crickets are like crack to those bream.

If 3/4 of the earth is covered in water and 1/4 is dry land than doesn't it stand to reason that God intended for man to spend 3/4 more time fishing than working?

Waco - did I see you near the back of the ski cove? There were a lot of boats out there.

Everett - You should have gone by Benny's camp site. He fished and would have welcomed the company. Heck, he'll even feed you! He likes to cook more than anything anyway...well...except maybe eating. smile

My dad and I went today also. He's kind of stubborn, so we pretty much anchored in the same spot all morning. We cleaned 20 nice ones and stuffed two quart bags by noon. Peaceful out there! Overcast, light breeze, just a really nice day on a beautiful lake.

Next full moon things are really going to pick up!

Guys, what kind of rig are you fishing? The old cork or a drop shot/tightline? Thanks.

He's probably coming in on Monday. He'll be back for a week around Memorial Day, and then I'll move into his camp the first week of June. Chad will likely be over there around that time too.

I'll be needing some big crickets when I head down Thursday. Anyone know where I can stop and pick some up on the way (between Arlington & Fairfield)? Or maybe there is somewhere here in the Metromess where I can get some before I leave?

We go to Fisherman's Supply in Garland and then go to Fairfield. We live in Grand Prairie and I don't know of any other bait shop that carries crickets between here and the lake.

jcarring99 is right. You're not likely to find any between the metroplex and FF. I'd either order some over the internet, or stop by one of the pet places before you leave the metro area.

O.K. then guys. I guess the pet shops are the places to look. It's just that they generally have the smaller crickets and I was hoping for some larger adult ones. juggle

Beggars can't be too choosy, I guess. fish

Thanks for the help....... clap
