I prefer the u-boats, I had them both and found the ushaped to be more comfortable and maneuverable.

i don't know about the u-boats because I don't think you could rest your elbows on the front while your crappie fishing

I have the U-boat style - and it has big arm rests on the side - have not missed being able to rest elbows on the front.
