Weather forecasted 64 to 79 degrees with 7mph winds, and mostly cloudy. Actual was 67 to 86 degrees blue bird skies until 4pm, and 10mph winds. The lake was a major mess by 1pm with 100's of huge pleasure boats doing useless donuts, and one big 50+ boat caravan right up the middle of the lake. Looked like all of them had their trims all the way up, they were all plowing the water from caney up past peach creek. 3 of the idiot jet skiers even ran all the way up in peach creek, I yelled and waved to warn them but it was too late. One guy was thrown end over end after slamming into a stump, he was ok but dazed. If you have never fished Peach creek, it has 100's (if not 1000's) of stumps right under the surface, most 1" to 3" under.
Got a late start at 10am from April's, and headed to Lewis creek. Picked up 2 on spinner bait, and 4 on frog. Water was 75.5, lightly stained, and all 6 fish came from 2ft to 4ft of water. 5 were keepers with the biggest at 3+ pounds.
11:30am, moved to Little Lake and picked up 2 more barely keepers on frogs, and boated 7 dinks. Water was 78, mostly clear, and was 2ft to 3ft water.
1pm, moved above 1097 to get away from the water lice and picked up 6 more keepers all on frogs, and 7 or 8 dinks. Water was 78.5, off colored, and 2ft to 4ft. I did happen to find about a 100 yard stretch of hydrilla the carp hadn't got to yet.
The frog bite on Conroe is definitely heating up, you just have to find the grass to throw them at. If you get one bite in a spot, keep throwing as they are still stacking up.
