Morning 5-10-08

Had guest and fellow TFF member Kevin on the boat today for a little fishing and learning. We tried to go last week but the wind kept us off the water so when my trip cancelled for today I called and seen if he wanted to move his day up, we were scheduled to fish Memorial weekend laugh We started at 6:30am and finished at 11:20am. Found some good fish first thing with some nice top water action was not as good as yesterday but not bad. We caught some huge white bass today but no legal hybrids. After that action played out we checked a few other spots and picked up fish here and there kinda thing. Then we found a big school holding tight to a hump and whacked them pretty good. A lot of boat shows today and we tried to stay away from them but they kept coming every time I stopped laugh Kevin , it was a pleasure and you are one fun guy thumb. We kept his 25 huge white bass and threw back every thing else. It is fun when a 15 inch white slams a top water . Ended the day with 1 fish over 100 laugh All fish caught on Top waters, Humdingers and TNT slabs in water 10-28ft deep. Wind was calm out of the S and water temp was 72 degrees.

Afternoon 5-10-08

Had repeat guest Greg and Blake on the boat this afternoon. I usually do not do doubles but he is a very good customer and usually does not fish long and want to clean fish laugh He was suppose to be there at 12:30 but they showed up at 1:00pm.. I would not expect anything less of him laugh laugh It was real windy by then and our only option was South. We checked some humps with nothing on them. Now, I am always honest in my reports so here it goes. I told Greg I needed to eat my sandwich , so he said just drift buddy laugh So as I was eating I noticed fish on the screen in 32 ft water. Drop the slabs , fish on laugh I threw out a marker buoy and we caught fish there for an hour straight they didnt move, no structure, he asked why these fish were here and I told him I have no idea sometimes I guess it is better to be lucky then good. After that we moved and located some more fish. At 3:30pm he was ready to go. Caught 116 fish with 2 white bass that went 17 inches and 1 legal hybrid about 8 lbs laugh All fish caught on TNT slabs in 25-32 ft water south winds were strong at about 20-25 and water temp was 73 degrees. I also seen a bunch of TFFs out and a guy from Lewisville lake stir laugh laugh laugh Good to see everybody.

Vaughn and I were the guys from Lewisville. I know how to fish Hubbard, just follow the yellow Sea Pro. John was gracious enough to let us fish beside him for a while. He definitely had the fish corralled.

That John Varner is the hardest working man in Town. Two trips in one day!! I am glad he is putting on the tournament and not fishing it or we would all just be donatiing money to the college fund!!

Good Fishing To Ya,
Ruben
