Used to be one in Grand Prairie on Beltline. Its a Racetrac now, or at least it was before they opened the new Racetrac.

I hate to hear DQ is going downhill. I use to love their burgers and steak fingers. I haven't eaten at one in years though. I may have to check one out just to see if it is really as bad as everyone is saying. Wish me luck. If I don't come back, send a search party.

The DQ in Wills Point is ok in the daytime but at night the teenage crew takes over then you best stay away. Cold food, indifferent service, long wait times, incomplete orders. I used to stop at the DQ in Hamilton on 281 but it really went downhill. I agree with Jerrybign on the Forney DQ being a good one and with Oldfrog on the Whataburger in Canton being fast, friendly, and fresh.

There's still 1 in McKinney (used to be 2 years ago). It's decent so me and my boy go there occaisionally for lunch, mainly so we have a dipped cone for dessert.
As for what happened to them, probably a combination of things already mentioned. Dollar menus. Marketing. Playgrounds. Faster (as in cooked in advanced) food.
I still like their burgers, chicken strips (just ask for gravy at McD's and see what you get) and of course they have the best selection of dairy desserts going. But I have to say the "steak" fingers have either gone to heck or I just wasn't very picky as a younger PK.
I still like DQ and get sad everytime one closes. PK

As a side note (and since I'm buzzing on coffee) some out of the way DQ's have "home cooking" type stuff for breakfast and or lunch. Unless it's fallen victim to the closings, the DQ in Farmersville had a pretty good lunch plate special of non-typical for DQ stuff. Also, the DQ in Honey Grove has a good breakfast menu. They're still out there and will always be if we'll take the time to eat there.

Well, after fishing Raybob today I decided to stop in at the DQ in Sanger, my curiosity would not allow me to pass. I found a very clean facility with clean cut high school kids working there. Ordered the Hunger Buster for my son and I. It was very good and very big. Just like I remember it. I guess it depends on which one you go to. Probably related to the area of a given establishment. If you go to one in Crack Head Heights, you will probably find it different than the one in Straightsville. By the way, the one in Mckinney is still there and it is a good one too. I use to eat there all the time for lunch. I think there is still one in Coppell where Beltline and Denton Tap merge. There use to be anyway.

Ate at McKinney DQ for lunch today. Beltbuster combo & small cone for me. Popcorn chicken kids meal & snickers blizzard for my boy.
Everything was GOOD. PK

Our DQ closed a few years ago here in Paducah. My Dad came up from East Texas and made a comment that was pretty correct. "You know your town is dying when you lose your Dairy Queen" lol

Used to be two in Marshall. Both shut down. Some one built a modern one about 15 miles up the highway in Jefferson. I stopped once. Went through the drive thru and orderd a steak finger basket. The price went up, the quality stinks. The amount of food dwindled, the taste was awful. I tossed it in the driveway (yea I know shouda used the trash can, but the trash can was too good for this trash)on my way out. Its like when coke did away with its formula and came out with that new [censored]. I havent voluntarily drank a coke sinse.
