We have a Kirby. Freaking expensive but very good. I was actually little peaved when my wife told me she bought it, but now that we have had it for several years I am glad we do. Same here.

$55 Walmart Dirt Devil. I can but a new one every 2 years for 10 years and save big money over the high dollar ones.

Once you have Dyson animal, you never go back...
Expensive for a vacuum but has been as good as advertised. I just need to find out about durability- all plastic. Two years so far without a problem.

Dyson for animals. Amazing the amount of dog hair this thing will pick up. Had mine for about 4 years. I'm a cheap SOB but this thing is worth the extra money if you've got two big ol dogs that shed like crazy.

I've got a $80 Bissel I'll put up against that Dyson! Not that the Dyson is bad, but mine just works extraordinarely well!

DITTO...but I didn't have to pay for it, was a gift from my Mom after she moved in with us. Great piece of equipment.
