...here is Scott's nice 4# smallie that followed my 3# lmb to the top. My fish broke the top then another swirled right by it. I told Scott to throw over because there was another fish following mine. he did and BAM! it was on.

I sat watch them guys . They were peeling them boats off 2 at a time . They had 3 guys just to help them keep the ramp moving. It was smooth and fast .

We watch for a good while . It was super smooth without any goof ups. Not your norm for a Sat. I maybe wrong but I think 1 boat had a 350 hp . I couldn't tell for sure and don't know if they made them that big.

yammie makes a 350 8cyl 4 stroke. big heavy motor. i dang sure would not put it on a Bass boat. they also make a 300. but just came out with the 350 this year. its a motor for a boat like Jays. just too heavy for a Bass boat.
well BB bout to head to Austin be back later this afternoon. bolt

One bass angler really got under my skin this morning. My dad and I are up in Metheglan Creek crappie fishing and head to one of out trees that generally does pretty good. We ll we see there is a boat about 25 yards away from the tree but heading a away from it. We circle around them and head for the tree. About the time we hit the tree, I hear "Hey what are you doing?" At first my dad thought they were just making conversation. They had just spun around and were heading back. We said we were crappie fishing and the guy said "he knew", but "they were fishing the bank back and forth." WE even told him we came around with his boat pointing away and he said "so".Basically, claiming that stretch of bank in any direction as theirs for as long as he wanted it. His buddy never even looked up from casting. We are very courteous and accomodating people so we pull off to oblige (though had no reason too) and look for our next tree, but another bass boat hit that spot before we could get there. Well I'm PO'd still and fuming and it takes a lot to get me mad. I turn and the guys work the bank back but don't even cast to the tree we were going to tie off to and fish, as we weren't working the bank. The minute they passed I turned and said screw it, I had every right to be there. We tied up and they left 5 minutes later with not saying anything. I'm hoping he finally realized what an a%^ he'd just been.

Here's the poetic justice...10 minutes later, using a crappie jig, so it would have been tournament legal...dad catches a 2.5 pound bass. Definately something any tourney angler would have wanted today. We also caught 20 keeper crappie there too. We saw them catch nothing. I'm an easy going person, but this still has me ticked.

Frustrating moment to an otherwise great day on the water as we caught close to 100 fish and each had our limit, though we left a lot of the big females to continue doing their spawn thing.

LOL, phones are cheap nowadays..but then again, back in the day, they actually could take a "swim" or two before croaking

That is true TB... My dad dropped my cell in the hole when we were ice fishing years ago! It worked fine for at least a year after that... Conspiracy? I think so.

yes sir, had a star-tac that fell in the lake, and outa the deer stand several times...I'd put it back together, and it would work just fine. When wet, just shut it off and a day later it was working great.....now you get some high humidity, and they mess up on ya...

But at least you got the fish clap
