I put my house on the market on Monday and got an offer for 98% of the asking price today. It's located in Cedar Park Tx. I tried selling it myself on craigslist for two months and got responses but nothing solid. I turned it over to an agent last week. If you get a good agent they are worth the commission.

Say it ain't so. Tbend has regaled us for months about how dismal the housing market is. Homes can't be sold. According to Tbend you should have just walked away from the mortgage.

What next? Surely you are not going to tell us that you have found a new place that you really like at a great price. (I am not sure Tbend could handle that)

Congrats...houses in my neighborhood are still selling but it take longer than in years past...

I work with 2 people who just sold houses. 1 in Conroe. He had it on the market with an agent that lived about 60 miles away for 3 months. Changed to an agent in town and sold it for his asking price.
Another friend in McKinney listed her house and had 3 people bidding on it within 2 weeks. She got 10K more than she listed it for.
They both closed within the last week!

Tame that dancing banana for now. It isn't a done done deal until you walk out of the title company with everything signed. I am speaking from experience here. I had a deal going to build a home for some folks at Fork, however their deal to sell their home in DFW melted down at the closing table.

My house has been for sale in McKinney for over two months and I've had two people look at it. I don't think I'm high on the price either.

I listed mine monday and had a showing today....waitin for an offer

The housing market in the Austin area is relatively unaffected by the economy. Those damn Californians can't get here fast enough.

I sold mine and even though it took 6 months,I got what I wanted. I got rid of the ex,finacially and had enough left over for a boat. Looking for a new house but for the next 6 months Sharon and I are taking a break from home ownership and all the bull that it entails. Mighty fine to see those boys from Mexico cutting the grass and I dont have to write them a check at these Apts.

man my subdivision is like a ghost town!!!! got home yesterday and my neighbor across they street is selling!!! turns out the taxes are killin him and they are gonna have to move to an apartment... really stinks they where good people... seems like every day another house gets a new lawn decoration...

my parents put their house on the market on a thursday a couple of weeks ago. by the end of friday they had a contract on it. now if they could find a house to move to they'll be in good shape
