Looks to be a material that was developed by John Rohmer out in AZ.

I have never seen any seal dubbing, likely never will as seals are on the verboten list. But that is what it's supposed to replicate.

Anyone got a pet seal that can share some combed fur? wink

Nope but I have a cat. I have a Siamese that is either a blue point or a lilac point, not sure which, she was given to me. I also have a Calico. Surely I can whip up something with the different colors of each?

Simulated seal dubbing has been used by steelheaders for awhile now. I have some of the Arizona simi seal dubbing, which is a mixture of antron and mohair, an attempt to simulate the luster and spikiness of seal fur. It makes a buggy fly.
