the places that are big and fancy or on the river walk suck, I'm talking about westside hole in the wall Jalisco native cocinas, where the thought of sanitary never crossess your mind once the first bite is savored, after eating that kind of food, mi tierras and all the others seem about as tasty as taco bell, their homemade hot sauces and salsa will make you wonder why you didn't taste it sooner Viva la westside....All the tourist places are way over rated. A small hole in the wall is the only way to go.

Good stuff with a kick! I had never heard of the rooster sauce before in Texas till i moved to Hawaii a few years ago. Went to a vietnamese place here for pho (soup), and you put that sauce in there, i thought thats the best sauce ever. Now i put that on everything! Broke da mouth as we say here...

Once played baseball for a team from matehaula mexico in the NABA in Dallas, our coach had a homemade recipe from there and it was awesome. It's been years since then though. Does this count as an out of the way place??????

Cajun power! Because spice should enhance the food, not mask it with hot.

Here is a recipe for a home-made tabasco type hot sauce. Been meaning to experiment with it but haven't got around to it yet.
