And kept going for an hour or more after that!

Went and hit the pond at the police station here in college station. Every single cast brought one up a bluegill or brim averaging 6" up to 8" at the biggest.

Even got a little bass. Put 6# flouro on a fly rod and fished under a pencil cork...

Night crawlers on an aberdeen hook. Flies, especially dry hackled ones, would have been a blast to. I just don't have any made right now....

They're spawning I believe. Lot's of big puffed up males around.

Cought the same fish three times, bugger had three hook holes in his lip that were fresh....Either I caught himm three times or Texas2Wheeler had got him to.

Never seen them hit like that, and never had such a good hook up rate. Those little pencil floats really make a difference over the old plastic balls. They sink better, they show a bite better, and they can pull them down deep enough they takes the hook in there mouth right.

Naw, it was legit. The pond was full of them. No matter where you threw the bait, it would go down with a bite in a matter of 15 seconds or so.

I didn't have quite as good a luck, but it was a blast to fish.

Went back today. Not quite as heavy duty, someone had fished the far end of the pond, so I fished off the pier. Got maybe 20 or 30 in a couple of hours.... they where still biting almost every cast :D, just a little slower.

Got into another little bass, and some crappie even. There are some HUGE f'ing koi in that pond, I wanna go see if I can get em to bite like a carp.

I highly suggest taking the little ones out for it. Nightcrawlers are the only things they're not going to turn there nose up at.

in case you'd not fished there, Central Park is the same way. Both ponds have a lot of small bluegill.

Neither of the ponds are really good for bass though. I must sheepishly admit that i put about 20 adult bass into the police station pond. My wife works at TEEX, and I have permission to fish the pond out there. They told me if I fished it to take out some of the bass because there are too many in the pond. So earlier in the spring I put a couple batches of bass in the police station pond and in central park.

When you catch one, the big pond in central park has some nice bass. I've caught them up to 4 lbs., and I've seen one over 6 come out of there.

I never catch ANYTHING at central. I caught one small bass there, but the bluegill hardly ever bite. Cetnral also has a bad habit of putting additives into the water and all the fish in the ponds, or most of them, end up dead. I think it depends on how close you managed to get there to when they stocked it last...

The bass that are in the police station pond are obviously spawning, as are the crappie! I doubt the big ones you put in are still there though, if they bit a hook someone probably took off with them.
