I had never had Wal Mart check one until the last time I needed to have them replaced. Unfortunitely they had been on the charger and one wouldn't fully charge but it was enough to not have them low enough. So the next day out I left the lake and went right to Wally world and change them out.

I'll be buying a new pair of deep cycle batteries soon, I guess I'll just go with the ones from Wal-Mart.

I had a 2 week old neverstart let me down in a tournament cost me $1000 because I was late for weigh in. That battery was a replacement for one 3mos. old. After an arguement with them I got my money back went and bought an interstate that was 3 years 3 mos ago still working.

Which Optima are you using? I'm looking at getting the Bluetop D34M for the trolling motor and the D31M for the cranking battery.
