Has anyone fished the ponds at Sotogrande apts. in the Hurst.Euless.Bedford area and if so did you have any luck and what did you catch. I would image as long as that place has been around it should have some bass in it. Just wondering.

Have fished those ponds a handful of times and never even got a bite in them. I fished for bass and catfish and NOTHING! I used to live over there. I have heard of some people catching carp in there but that's not really my thing. i always noticed that the water was really stagnant and seemed to have film on top. So there might not be a whole lot of oxygen in the water. Good luck to you though if you go. And be careful because you will get kicked off since those ponds are right on the golf course.

I lived there back in 97 and fished it to test new reels and baits. I probably fished it 12 times over 2 years and caught some small bass, a 2# gold fish, 1 big snapping turtle on a power worm, and a small gar. The biggest bass went 2 lbs. during prespawn. The only cover in the pond is some sunken brush in front of the pump house. If you catch anything 12" or more then consider it a Sotogrande trophy. The fish only bit at sunset for me, I didn't try mourning. I would say it's a good place for a duck, and a great place to lose a golf ball.

Yep kinda what I expected. I had guessed that there would be some fish in it, and also guessed that they would run me off. I would try late in the evening if I went. Really just trying to find some good small waters in the area. Gas is getting to high to drive out to the vine every weekend. Plus I feel that fishing from the bank can be much more effective from a pond. I know about most the small waters ie. Macormick,Chishom,Bebford Branch, Collieville Nat. center ect. Thought I might try the pond behind Birdville high off of 26 and precinct line this weekend.
