I know you guys see a lot bigger ones, but this was kinda strange since it was caught in the mouth with a deep diving crankbait. LOL last year he had an 89lb flathead on a crankbait.

Guide was Dean Stroman

Cool.

Buffs are omnivores, just like carp, so they are occasionally caught on crankbaits. And flatheads are used to eating live fish, but catfish have such good senses that they aren't often fooled by a chunk of plastic and metal.

This video (if it still works) shows carp and barbels (I think they're barbels; they're called barbos in Spanish) in an aquarium in Mexico trying to chase down a baitfish.

I have heard of carp over 20lb being caught on crank baits, spinners and flies on the River Segre in Spain, Cats will hit anything that moves when the mood takes em a friend of mine was returning a spawney she cat of over150lb and got hit by a horney male that bit his belly and left a raw bite the size of a bucket!!!

Your friend got bit? And was that "spawney she cat" really 150 pounds?

Unfortunately, I had a similar experience with "Stalker" the 85 lb flathead I had when I worked at Cabela's. I was diving in the tank when she decided to swim at me as fast as she could before she bit me. I couldn't sit down for a day or two after that!
