As some of you know I just bought Jeff aka catsalesman's 17ft bullet. This is one sweet ride. Well when I first got it, handling it was out of the question. It was one scary ride. Well, I did a little tweeking here and there on the steering, got a new steering link from Steve and now I can hold her till it wont pull anymore. Before at 4800, it would start to walk hard on you. Now I can hold it as long as I want to at 5400. I still need to lift the motor some and do a lil more tweeking and maintenance. Slowly but surely I'm gettin the devil out of this boat.

Throw you a 2.5 offshore on there and see what she will really do!

BTW, I have been driving mine for about a year now and I still have never topped her out. I do know she will cruise at 75 very easily though.

I didnt buy it to be a driveway ornament. Ive only had it on the water 4 times this week, and only fished once. Halfway home sunday night my girlfriend looked over at me and said "lets stop by lake kirby on the way home". So I guess she was finally ready for a ride in it.

Anyhow I did fish some lastnight with some new baits I got from Rigger Lewers. I saw a guy out last night that I usually see at lake abilene. He has a 19ft champion with a 175 johnrude on it. He laughed when I asked him if he wanted to run with that bullet. Needless to say when we finally did make a pass down the lake together, he wasnt laughin anymore. I am picking up a hand held gps on the way home, so maybee I can figure out how fast the boat is actually running now.

Hey Jeff, I put my heavy anchor in the front of the boat and it gets out the whole way quicker now.

Josh. it's kinda funny, how us fast guys buy these light weight boats, then have to ADD weight to keep them undercontrol, huh?

the weight just has to be stratically placed.

i must admit though, i have NOT added any additonal weight in mine, and it still drives great! My 4 blade ET chopper really settles my boat down.

Yea it is. I think my next step to balance the boat is to convert it over to a 2 battery setup instead of 3. I hooked the motor up to a trolling battery lastnight that only had 10 volts in it before the charge and she turned over just fine.

The reason for doing this is, my partner just got orders for afghanistan for a year. SO it will just be me myself and irene on the tournament trail now. Anyhow that should balance the boat out real nice.

The mileage on this boat is unreal too. I ran it almost out of fuel on purpose tuesday and put 5 gallons in it lastnight. Right now it probably has 4 gallons still in it. I think i went maybee 6 miles figureing out where to trim it to.

I am one very extremely happy boat owner.
