Hooked the boat up to the truck and the trailer lights were not working.(One brake light would work but the other led lights were either very dimly light or not lit at all) Hooked up the trailer to my dads car and the lights worked fine...any thoughts?

I've seen this before many times on my boat trailer. Check your ground wire. A good ground is key to everything!

The white wire is the ground wire. Be sure it is secured to the trailer under a screw or bolt.

I fish saltwater, the truck is an '06 f150. I'm not currently near the trailer as I'm finishing up school in austin and the boats in Houston, will be home sunday to fish monday though assuming its an easy fix.

Check all the trailer wiring, especially any nap-on quick connectors like the ones that connect the trailer wiring harness to the taillights. These are funky when exposed to salt water. I use heat shrink over a soldered connector because of problems with those connectors.

Also, the "submersible" trailer lights you get a Academy that have a coated bulb will fail. The bulb will pop if it’s hot and you dunk it in cold water. I got some good water proof trailer lights at Magnum trailer. The bulb is enclosed in a plastic housing about the size of two packs of cigarettes so that water never contacts the bulb. Replacement bulbs come in those enclosures.

more than likely the ground is your problem. also on most trailers for the trailer to be grounded the hitch has to be on the ball. if it is not the trailer is not grounded. like what was said above the white is the ground that is probably what the problem is. it may just take a unscrewing off the trailer and cleaning it and putting it back on.
