I must not have the whole story cause how in the world can you straighten a hook on a spinnerbait?
I don't know how it happened. The bass was big but I don't know how big. I only saw her head / mouth but if I was guessing she was 8+. It was in open water so it wasn't because of a stump or anything. I stuck her hard and fought her for about a minute or so and then my line just went limp. When I reeled it in i saw this:

They told me in their response e-mail that it was probably an error in the tempering process that made the hook weaker than normal. From what I understand the hooks are tempered in mass quantity and on very rare occasion one gets missed some how.
