Went to Lake Mexia for the first time ever yesterday and caught several keepers and one 5#'r and this was between 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Except that it was shallow and very muddy it wasn't a bad little lake!

Only been on mexia once and it was incredibly shallow, and this was during the drought around 8 years ago. My buddies uncle lived on the place and we went to check out a small outboard he had for sale. His uncle said if you could get up the navasota the fishing was good up there. I do seem to remember alot of docks and some good looking hydrilla around the guy with the airboats dock.

Brazos River!!!!
July 19th. Should be a challenge.
Tried it out Thursday and caught only about 5 1/2 pounds. That was 2 keepers. One was 2.11 and the other 2.09.
Lots of laydowns and cool cover the fish. Should be fun but make sure your spare tire is locked down or in the truck.

ok thanks, here goes.

first i would like to know what are the costs of becoming/being a member? and how exactly do i go about joining?

i am a non-boater, so would i get paired up with a boater? or do i have to find my own partner? is there any additional fees for a non-boater? like fuel costs for example? or maybe that is a proper etiquette thing.

how dedicated? if i cant make a tournament/meeting for whatever reason, would there be any kind of consequences?

thats about it for questions for now i think, but since i am here and typing, i will give a quick background on me.

my name is Cliff and i am 30 years old. i live here in Waco. i have fished as long as i can remember but only for largemouth bass since i moved to texas about two years ago. in NY and MN i focused mainly on pike, walleye, and smallies. currently i fish golf course tanks and a couple small private tanks, never really fished any "big" water here in texas. i have never been in a fishing club nor have i fished in a tournament, but i think it might be something i would enjoy.

thanks!!
Cliff

the cost of being a member is $30, but now since the season is half over i think it might be $15

youre going to have to find your own partner, no additional fees for non boater, usually the non boater and boater split the gas and all expenses but thats up to yall

no consequences for not making meetings or tournaments.

If you read a couple post up there are a few guys looking for co-anglers.

Has anyone used the ramp over by MCC, is it better than the one across from cameron park, somewhere where I don't have to worry about having my spare tire stolen.

ive seen bass boats use the one by mcc, its a nice ramp but its not very wide, and it has a very nice dock also. the one by the horseshoe pits isnt that bad, i have been there about 5 times and havent got anything stolen.
