I bought a boat that was left uncovered for a long time. The clear coat is about 90% gone and only left in shadows of where the sun couldn’t touch. Other than that, the paint that is left behind is dull. The boat is black with silver flakes. As we work on it to get her back into the water, we realize ITS HOT! We are thinking of painting it a lighter color. We have even thought about sanding, priming, and using spray paint ourselves. From the bumper line down the hull is fine, we will keep that intact. The rest of the boat's paint is shot. Any thoughts on using spray paint and a lot of lacquer? What about taking it to a shop to paint? Does Maaco do boats?
