Ive got a 2006 F-150 and having brake problems. I took it to my mechanic last week and described the problem-which is that when I apply the brakes there is a pretty bad shake in the steering wheel-so he turns rotors and new pads and still does the same thing. I take it back and he calls the Ford dealership and they say it has something to do with the emergency brake pads. Take them off and drive down the road and it does the same thing. Anybody got any idea what could be causing the problem. Oh-if I dont go over 40 mph and apply the brakes it does not shake-but if I go over 50 mph and apply brake it shakes. Thanks

it would have to be the front rotors causing this if the steering wheel shakes, you might have to change the front rotors if they are composite rotors. You might also want to check the tie rod ends for excessive play, but 99% of the time it is the front rotors are warped.

if he turned the rotor to fast it just makes the problen worse so you have to slow cut them to prevent this but..its better to replace them its cheaper in the long run.
