Looking for suggestions on a new TM for my 17’ Nitro

I have a 12 V 40 thrust that I’m looking to upgrade.

What do you have or recommend?

Thank you,

I would highly recommend at least 60lb thrust 12-24 or straight 24v. I have an 18 Ft Ranger and just replaced a 64lb MG with an 80 lb MK 24V and love the MK.

I've got an 82# Motor Guide on my Nitro (17.5') and wouldn't want anything less when the wind blows.

Yeah go with a small 24volt, your boat should have no problem getting up on plane

" What would you Buy? "

A winning lotto ticket of course, or perhaps Microsoft Stock when it was just starting out in the 70's.

But for a TM I would go with Minn-Kota. I was a Motor Guide guy for years and years and years, but when I became a guide I was recommended a Minn-Kota. For me it's a 36v 101 Maxxum and another 101 Maxxum Pro on another boat (both are foot control for me).

All I can say is, I have been very happy with them for a number of years now.

When Guides tell you that, you might want to listen,

and as you pick up your trolling motor get a on board charing system. It is well worth the money. I keep my boat at the lake the batteries are ready to go when I get there. no more having to go a day early just to charge the batteries
