I am wanting to take my wife and daughter out to Fairfield this weekend for some camping and fishing. My daughter is 4 and loves to fish. I have heard and read about the Bluegill on Fairfield, but have never went specifically for them. Also, I have a high interest in the Tilapia.

Where would you start in looking for these fish and what bait would you start out with, how deep, etc?

I will post pictures of our findings.

Thank you guys in advance for your help.

RJ, we were down there a couple of weeks ago and are going back this weekend, Thursday afternoon - Sun. Our best results was slow-reeling a 1/16 oz jig head with cricket on a ultralight and caught a bunch of really big bluegill using that method. The kids caught some on the corks, but everyone else quickly switched to the slow retrieve jig head method. If you want to PM me, I'll give you my cell # and we could share info down there this weekend in case that might help. The main key is to take plenty of live frisky crickets along if you're looking to catch the big ones.

Jon, were you fishing from a boat or from the bank?

We were in a boat. There's reeds growing around a lot of the shoreline that would limit bank fishing a fair bit.

Are you working points or structure?

Thanks
