There are a couple of piers near High Island. Meacom's Pier and I can't remember the other one. Pelican Pier maybe?

jr,

The problem with the Dirty pelican pier is that when you're out on the end of it there is a small spoil bank and "trash" dump out and to the right...some concrete with exposed rebar in the area too...You will get lots of hang ups and broken of equipment...However...if you have any desire to wade fish...there is what is left of one of the old piers right near the Bolivar Ferry landing...as soon as you pull off the ferry and begin to pass the water that will be on you right, there is what is left of a pier...mostly pilings...but the bottom is solid sand....That area holds flounder and trout when the water is moving..its pretty shallow as well...we always wade out so that we're 20 or 30 yards away from the pilings so that we can cast into them and work the area w/o being too close to avoid any residual debris on the bottom......as far as the beach front of Bolivar (crystal beach)...there is a mini marsh drain that is about a mile past the road to the north jetty that actually drains back into the gulf( you can zoom in and see the little drain on google earth)...lots of shells and a bit of a channel...pretty good spot to wade fish.
