Hi all,

I just bought a boat that has the basic four-wire connector type.

Now, the tow vehicle has factory heavy duty wiring with eight wires, a white ground wire and seven other wires.

Can anybody tell me which wires from the truck to connect to the four trailer wires?

There is a "wire identity" label on the truck wiring, but I don't understand what some of the descriptions mean. I see LH turn, RH turn. But I don't see one that says "stop lights" or "tail lights".

Any help much appreciated.

your truck has a seven way bargman plug, you can buy a 7-4 way adapter at walmarts for 7:00 dollars and not have to mess with it.

Thanks Stan,

I should have mentioned, the plug has been cut off by a prior owner. Hence, I just have the wires.

Thanks for the replies. I had to replace the right side bulb, which was burned out.

I spliced the wires as you suggested, and at first the brake lights were not working on either the trailer or the truck. After a while, though, they seemed to start working correctly. I was working with a little side marker light on the right side that was not making good contact-maybe that had something to do with it.
