Yes...at the Brazos, the Trinity and the Red River.

Yes they successfully spawn in the river. Need only 20+ miles or so of current to do it. Not many lakes with striper population have enough current to reproduce. I could be wrong on this but I think texoma is one of a handful of lakes in the country that has enough current and salinity.

Is there anywhere you can unload a boat at the dam? I have heard of people unloading on the Oklahoma side.

The State should have a handle on this and we don't need to frown upon our brothers about harvesting fish, especially if it's legal. If Lee paid for his fishing license, and didn't poach, what's the problem? Until there's a upper slot limit, there isn't, so contact your state congressman and make a change if it bothers you that much, but don't be calling people greedy if they are only keeping their legal limit and actually eat the fish. As for Steve, you have to understand where he's coming from. Steve has a guide service, and his income may depend on this, but on the other side of the coin is the fact that Steve and his clients have and will continue to harvest much more fish than anyone of us will ever, so Steve needs to advise this to his clients, who pays his bills. Do you know how much a license cost for a guide? Very little, but how much more fish do you think they take annually with their clients? Why is a guide service in a bank fishing thread? Probably the same reason they run their boats up near the bank fishermen, when they have access to the entire lake. Practice what you preach and frown because you didn't catch the big one, not because someone else decides to keep their catch. Lee fish on and keep what you want, especially if you are going to eat it. Like you said, you invested time and $ into this great sport and deserve to enjoy it.

jbv, You have to have 4wd to get your boat in the river. Becareful if you do...there are some tricky drop offs depending on the water level.

Great post, Be Cool! ALL fishermen who pay taxes, purchase equipment and buy a license pay for the resources (and pay and pay and pay... out the wazoo)so as long as we are utilizing them in a lawful and respectful manner, enjoy them to the last bite....

I would rather see someone keep a couple of large stripers than see the poachers who keep 30-50 10" baby stripers to take home and clean. It literally makes me sick to see them keep hauling the tiny stripers to their coolers. Love to see it when the game wardens bust them for keeping too many stripers.

Keeping big stripers is greedy.... I am definately not jealous of any of you what so ever...please...I have caught more stripers all around the United States and Canada than any of you can ever know...if you are so good at catching them then you shouldn't have to worry about catching and keeping a limit of five pounders which is sufficient even if you have a family of eight. If you all were sportfishermen and not simply meat fishermen you might understand...until then I am done here.

I drove by the dam this morning and the water was just a trickle. I saw a few boats stacked in deeper holes. I Didn't stop and get any reports. Lake level is back to normal but they may open up the water later next week if the rain returns.
8 months of fishing reports on the dam were deleted because of the bashing and rasicst idiocy. I quit this site after that. Be reasonable and dont ruin another thread!

Amen Seymour. There was a lot of good information and fishing tips that were lost due to those posts being deleted.

Let's keep the posts upbeat and let's all have fun.

The schedule shows generation for 12 hours a day.
12am-12pm.
No flow from the Okie side.
My friend had his 7' rod snapped off like a tooth pick and he still landed a 10 lbr.
Caught it on topwater.
I laughed so hard I was in tears.
Good times!

He caught it yesterday on the Okie side.
The 1st bend past the beach area there is a good deep catfish hole.
I caught 3 dink stripers and 6 cats in 4 hours.
