Came home from a lousy day of fishing and found out that the left side leaf spring on my single axle trailer was BROKE. The fender rubbing on the tire. What is the SAFE way to replace and any tips would be greatly appreciated! Also I live in the Tyler area, who would have a replacement? Thanks again.

Been there twice on the same trailer. I got the spring at an RV store in West Tawakoni. If you can unload the boat it would be easier without the weight of the boat. Just need to jackup the trailer on the frame itself. Unbolt the two shackle bolts and the two u-bolt, put in the new one and do it all in reverse. Just like a car block it with jack stands or something just in case.

One more thing, if you need to move it to a ramp to get the boat off and the tire is rubbing on the fender, jack up the frame and put some 2x4 between the spring and the frame to space the wheel and fender so it doesn't rub. It is much easier if the boat is off the trailer, it becomes a sit down job instead of a lay down job.

Only problem is if the bolts are pretty rusted you better have a way to remove those rusted bolts. I used a grinder with cutoff blade last time I did mine. You might also want to check your axle to make sure its not bent while you are replacing the springs.

Hey Transplant, let them know about the recall on those springs. May be someone else that can take advantage of it.

Everyone. I called EZ Loader Trailer mfrt. I gave them my VIN #'s and they informed me my trailer qualified for "FREE Waranty" spring replacement kit. New 5 leaf springs and new mounting hardware. My trailer is a 2001/2002 model year. It has/had MonoLeaf springs. Supposed to be here Wed. I'll let eveyone know. Factory people were very nice.
