Just wondering if any of you guy may be having the same problem? I went to a private tank on Sunday and watched probably 30 keeper bass but only caught 2 on the smallest craw worm I had in my box. Any suggestions on different lures/ technique. I did notice several bull frogs so I'm goin back today with some new imitation soft plastics I've bought.

if there's feeders there they eat in cycles,..tough to catch when they don't have to catch their dinner,..try something shiny and fast moving , try for a reaction bite..

Try fishing at sunrise and sundown. If you can see the fish, the fish can see you. I fish the ponds at the ranch and have good luck that way.

In addition to the above, another factor may be post-spawn behavior...in ponds I fish, LMB get really difficult post-spawn.

The biggest problem, next to feeders which I agree make it difficult to catch LMB, is fishing pressure. The fish really get wise very quickly to anglers walking around catching them on lures.

If that's the problem, rig up a small live BG and fish it under a float...if the LMB are lure shy, you will get hits on the BG quickly.

i agree with meadowlark on the post spawn. the waters i fish are crystal clear, and you can catch them all day long looking right at them. they will lose focus on you if the right lure comes across, but definately not during post spawn or spawn for the most part
