Deep or shallow?

got to go sat evning most we caught between 18 &7 ft mainly 3-5s with 2 around 12-13lbs total of 19 between me &the grandson

Been hybrid fishing. Last month were catch blues shallow on wind blown points. Thinking about catching some to eat for this weekend while Turkey hunting. I like the 3 to 8lb blues to eat. Cut them in stakes.

I dont know about Tawokani but I am sure they are on the same pattern as the other lakes. GO SHALLOW early. Go with the normal rule of thumb see how the wind has been blowing for the past few days to see where the bait is. Where there is bait your sure to find some good fish near by. That is if your looking for blues I have no clue on channels for I dont fish for them. Good luck.

we've caught tons of fish (box fish) in shallow water 1-4ft on wind blow points.

Caught several nice 2-4 lb channels on cheese bait fished about 1.5 feet below a cork around flooded bushes last Saturday afternoon. They are starting to really come up in that vegetation. Alot of fun when the action is non stop in a small area like that.

Catfishsalsa, what end of the lake have you been fishing? I have been fishing the wind blown points that have produced in the past years and it has been slow. I have tried almost every part of the lake, except way up the Sabine arm. The closer I fish to the dam the less fish I am catching.

anyone catching cats off of the rocks on the dam?

yes- the channel cats are off the rocks at the dam- friend limited thursday evening- he was using cut shad

no problem- the wind may be blowing sunday- he told me he got there at 4 and was cleaning fish by 7- he fished off finger point on sunday in 3 feet or less and caught a bunch of cats as well cut shad- we trolled by him a coule of times
also had a report from a guy I know who did well on the rip rap around the "little" bridge- he was fishing from the bank sunday morning

try mid-lake on both sides of finger point...

there are fish everywhere right now...you are doing something really wrong if you can't catch a stringer of eating sized blues and channels.

Now, on the other hand the bigger fish are elusive and few and far between.

in 100% percent agreement salsa. went to t-wok a week ago and only got to fish a couple hours and they were hittin harder than mike tyson.
