What is that on the base of the handle? Looks like LEFAX? Maybe that will give us a clue.

I agree, Klingon fish cleaner. You can look it up on the Klingon Google page: http://www.google.com/intl/xx-klingon/"Heghlu'meH QaQ jajvam" "Today is a good day for fish to die" (in my skillet)

It's an old carpet strecher, the fork is used to tuck the carpet around the tack strip. That's my story and I'm sticking with it.

It sort of looks like something you'd use for climbing an icy cliff (such as a frozen waterfall)or a snow covered mountain, but I would think it would have a better grip for the handle.

I know! I know! It's a Japanese body shaper manufactured in late 1945. It was first designed in Hiroshima and used exclusively there and on the far outskirts of Nagasaki a few days later. It's designer is unknown and is believed to be the only one left in existance. You can go ahead and ship my lure...

It looks like part of a meat carving set. The spikes under the handle holds the meat or roast, and the fork is used for serving. BG

It looks like part of a meat carving set. The spikes under the handle holds the meat or roast, and the fork is used for serving. BG BG is correct. It is for carving a roast. Although, I do believe you actually use the fork for more than just serving. You stab it with the fork, the spikes keep it from moving while the fork supports the weight for rotating/moving.
