Anyone else dealing with this?

Just recently my speedometer has just quit working. It is still in warranty so I'm not really concerned about it, just frustrating.

I'm having trouble finding the time to get it in, they say its a 3 day turn around since they have to sent the whole speedometer/odometer out to be repaired.

I own an 04 Tahoe and an 05 Z71 crew,I got a recall on the Tahoe for the possibility of the speedometer to malfunction. It hasn't yet but the PU speedometer did quit. There has been no recall on the 05 models yet,but after a lengthly conversation with GM they fixed my 05.They should just install a new instrument cluster. No need to send yours off for repair.I would insist on that.

I had a 2004 z-71.....started having problems at 36,001 miles....

I put up with it for a long time. Eventually, the oil, volt, gas, and finally tach started having problems, too. I read on this board that Chevy was replacing the package.....Even though I had 75,000 plus miles at the time, the dealer where I bought it was good enough to replace it free of cost.....I think they know they had many problems. You might call the place where you bought it and see if replacement is covered for that model too....If I remember correctly, it's the same instrument cluster.

It took 10 minutes one day for them to "transfer and confirm" the info on the truck and 2 hours another day to replace.....I heard the 3 day turnaround stuff too....one of the reasons I waited so long. They replaced mine...they didn't send if off to be repaired.

Take it into service. They know about the problem. On 03-04's they will fix them even out of warranty.

all they have to do is plug there scan tool in and get the part number and then order your ipc and call you when it gets in to replace it and program it.
