Does anyone here fish the lakes in a 16' boat?? I am wondering about getting around in the creeks and flooded timber with 16 ft of kayak in the way.. the alternate to the 16' is a 14' that I like almost as well..

I can't say between the difference in a 14 or 16, but I had both a 14 and 12, and the 12 is a bit slower, but it is much easier to maneuver. I did have a 15 foot canoe, and it was a pain to turn around in the creeks.
I have a 12.5' SOT (the Caster, a great boat) but I want a bigger yak to open up more of the lake and windier days. I think the 16ft'r would open more distant areas but I am wondering how much becomes out of bounds...
There is a considerable difference between a 14/16' boat. The 16'er is easier to paddle and is faster but it takes a lot of effort to turn...even with a rudder. IMHO you will be better off with a 14' boat..save the 16'er for the bays or river/lake touring. The WS 160i IS a sweet kayak in the 16' range. A Native Manta Ray 14 or Hurricane are great 14'ers. I love my Perception Search 13'er...fast,stable, yet very maneuverable.
I tried out the Hurricane phoenix 14 and 16 both last week on grapevine... the 16 was a lot of fun (fast with a nice feel) but too tough to turn for where I fish...looks like a 14 'er for me
