Its a very simple rig I call it a "short runing rig", I use it when fishing heavy stocked areas when fish are in competative feeding situations these are the dodads required see picture

from left to right a 2 0z weight, a large diameter run ring with snap link attached, a bead to protect the knot, a GIZMO link that allows you to change the terminal rig quickly, a hook (small thick wire) and a boilie stop.
When its ready it looks like this

firsty the run rig is put on the main line then the bead then tie the GIZMO,this allows the main line to run freely thru the wieght of the lead to give very sensitive bite indication, the snap link allows you to change the sinker weight and style without breaking the whole rig down. The GIZMO is a type of split ring that allows you change the terminal rig quickly without breaking the whole thing down!! I use a monofilament hooklink using 10-15lb line (this doesn't tangle with the small fish knocking it about) a small thick wire hook tied with a short hair using the "knotless knot", this hooklink is between 4"-8", This style lead alows me to mould chum to it and bury the hook bait in it, this serves as an anti tangle measure and ensures the hook bait is surrounded with a good helping of free offering, once the carp start knocking this about the hookbait falls out and presents itself as another piece of free food, result+ screaming takes all day long. Ive caught 100s of greedy carp like this in UK, France, and Spain it really does work. the best thing about this set up is the verstility it offers being able to change weights and hooklinks so quickly, it means you can "fine tune to the way the carp are feeding on any day....Fished with "bow tight lines" it is super efficient at hooking the boldest and most shy carp Any questions...
