I have a Quantum Catalyst PT Model 10 that is one of my favorite spinning reels--but now when I try to close the bail via turning the handle, the handle won't move--if I turn it hard enough it will flip the bail but it takes much more umph than it should--any suggestions?

wow...and I wanted one of those because I figured the magnetic trip would be more durable than a typical bailspring...

other than the obvious suggestion of flip it by hand (you can reach thru your computer and slap me for that one), I have no idea...

Naw that is what I have been doing--I guess I need to look up the schematics for the magnetic trip--didnt know it had that so thanks--gives me a place to start anyway.

an easy fix may be just to lubricate the arms...that works on some reels with bail springs.

Hey I found this on Quantum's site
Cause #1: Bail spring is broken.
Solution: Replace with new spring.

Cause #2: Bail wire is bent.
Solution: Replace with new bail wire assembly.

Cause #3: Dirt or debris in bail hinges.
Solution: Remove bail wire assembly, clean thoroughly and lubricate with reel oil.

I cleaned her up really good tonight and working good again!!
