I got my new 08 Navionics hot maps in yesterday and put it in the depth finder.. When I scroll around the map and come to any lake, it just shows up as a lake with no details. For example, on my old fishing hot spots, it would go into detail of the lake as far as names of creeks, boat lanes, hot spots on the lake, weed beds, etc.. Do I have my Lowrance set up wrong? How come I am not seeing the detailed maps of these lakes?

Thanks

you need to go to MENU.. then hit MAP DATA and select the region that you want first. For instance, Lake FORK is located on the EAST TEXAS region ( i think? ) and once you've selected it, then you can go to Lake fork using the arrow keys and it should appear with all the detail you are expecting. There's a little manual set up if you are fishing lakes in different regions of Texas.

Hope this helps!

Thanks, I have the South region premium edition I didn't know if they should appear with the detail already or what. I'll try that when I get off of work this afternoon.

Thanks again

you got it. you have to select the map data for the unit to read. once you get it on, zoom in closer to see greater detail.

I will be fishing lake LBJ this weekend. So what I need to do is go to map data and select Lake LBJ?

No first select the region the lake is in. And then scroll to the lake and zoom in for the detail.

How did that Navionics chip work for you on LBJ and which electronics unit do you have?

As mentioned there are different map regions. If your unit is set for north region and you are on Lake Fork it will not show detail. You need to select the East region. This is just an example.
