I went out on last sat/sun. My friend (winkydo) got a small 1-2lb bass by the white boat house that keeps its light on. other than that it has been very dead. We are going to try and go out sat morn. I think we are going to try and go to the North shore. If you want to meet up pm me and Ill shoot you my cell phone and you can call me when u get to the lake.

I went out last night after the cowboys game and caught 4. Two dinks and two that were a little over a pound. Nothing big lately, been busy working on my Mustang so I haven't had too much time to fish.

wow either nobody has gone to grapevine line in about 9-10 days or there is just nothing to report right now. If you have gone out latly please report how the fishing is and if the water is lower or has come up a little.

If you have gone out latly please report how the fishing is and if the water is lower or has come up a little. 2 words: Lower and Slower The water is even lower, and from where I usually fish (about mid lake, south side), the bite has slowed a quite bit from what it was a few weeks back. I've been working on dialing in some different tactics and locations, but like I said, it seems a little slower - at least for me.

Same on the North side, Murrell Park. I see schools of shad in the coves as well as a school of small sandies ~6" long. 90% of what I've caught in the last 2 weeks are < 14" long. It's difficult enough to figure out the fishing with the weather, but throw in the receeding waterline too and its been hard times.

Fished Wednesday morning before the front. Pre-frontal conditions sucked. I fished all the coves from Murrell east, then hit the shores of the South side. Went back behind the marina at Gaylord. I threw Rattlesnakes, Shad cranks, Buzzbaits at dawn, Spinnerbaits. Fished my [censored] off from dawn till 1:00 P.M. and caught one 4lb and two infants. I thought they would blow up before the front, didn't happen. Water is lower than ever, getting dangerous...

Patrick...thanks for the report...is the boat ramp at Murrell still ok? As far as I can tell, the ramp is O.K. I found out how far it goes out when I backed my trailer in too far in the dark. Boat floated off and I started the day with a swim to go get it!

I might not go back to the vine till the water levels start to go back up. Ill just fish all the local ponds. Also I hope all the fish that they just put in there dont die off b.c of the water levels are getting low.

I've been doing some catfishing around different places lately.
Things have been slow. Lots of small sandies and crappie to catch. I sure wish the vine would go up though

Any of you guys want to hook up this afternoon? What you got in mind, little lady? Left the vine at 12 pm sloooooooowwwwwwww! Probably hit Team Placid's secret fishing spot. Want to come? Where are the rest of you guys? Not like the game is going to be real exciting, but I can bring the boom box if we want to listen to it.

I am new to the forum and looking for good places to bank fish. I have been to Grapevine with good success but my numbers have been going down with the lake level.
Any suggestions for Grapevine or other area lakes??

Hey Dr.Greene, Welcome to the forum, seems you joned up as we are in the blahs of low water level and inactive fish at the Vine,if your catching at all then you can consider your self lucky.Conditions will probably remain the same until we get those much needed rains!I'm afraid Lewisville may be much of the same! Haven't seen too many reports on it lately.Looks like local ponds and a few of the bodies of water that have managed to survie the drought will be destinations !I've suggested to several, Bachman Lake ,the levels don't appear to have been effected and the bite for bass ,crappie, cats, bream, and rough fish seem to continue to be strong!Just keep your eyes on this section ,anybody who is catching won't be able to stand not bragging about it and will post here soon!

Thanks for the encouragement - I hope I can remember the terrain when the water goes back up. I have tried to access several parks but everything seems closed. - Any idea what is going on and when will they open the gates??

Thanks for the encouragement - I hope I can remember the terrain when the water goes back up. I have tried to access several parks but everything seems closed. - Any idea what is going on and when will they open the gates?? Pretty much as the lake levels drop(I think it is currently 6ft and change low)the ramps that are in these various parks become dangerous or futile to use and these sections of the lake are closed by Corp of Engineers http://www.swf-wc.usace.army.mil/grapevine/The easiest way to do this is to lock the gates ,although generaly foot traffic still has access,(check with the Corp.office to make sure!!!don't wanna get anybody in trouble) On the Flower Mound side of the lake a majority of the closeures of Murrell Park are due to lack of funding to repair damage done from the flood of several years ago. Work is being done at a snails pace!!
