I planned on taking pictures, but apparently the wife's version of "The batteries in the camera work great", and the reality of the situation were a little different. Ahh well, maybe next time.

what part of lake were you fishing?

Southside....roamed up and down between Meadowmere and Katie's Woods. Some time spent in obvious places, some time spent in some not-so-obvious places I just happened upon.

Thats a good area with the potential to to hold some big bass it sounds like you hooked into a real Monster.......

well got out there yesterday to try out my new Gloomis glx 7-2...Boy o boy did I break it in...caught 4 okay fish and a monster 6.7...What a fish, who would have thunk it off the bank at the Grape???

I think I recognize that spot...lol. I am going out again this Friday, before sunrise, probably fish until noon or so, then I'll head back out in the evening. If anyone else is headed out, pm me or post and maybe we can meet up.

well I caught "him" out there one day and got me a nice shiny sticker!!!!! Which is now located on the truck!!!!

scared the carp outta me at first when you pulled infront on my truck and stopped. jumped out, yelling and waving your arms...

Im going to try to get out there today.. I leave for Florida next week and I have lots to do.. But im gonna try

In fact I did get out there today! Went out about 5am this morning, and caught them steady until about 8 or so. Anywhere from 2-4 lbs, fishing topwaters(mostly buzzbait), then switching to spinnerbaits when the wind picked up. Not a bad day, though I am still having trouble finding and catching any once the sun gets on up there and it gets hot. I suspect they head on out to deeper water, and I just don't have access, being on the bank and all.

Might go back out tomorrow morning, same time, if anyone is interested in meeting up.

Will post pics of my morning catches once I can find the cable for my camera.

If any of you guys are ever out, Southside mostly, and see a red 2-door Explorer, then I am probably lurking along the bank somewhere nearby

Where you fishing at??

Same places as last time. Meadowmere, Oak Grove, McPherson's Slough, Katie's Woods.... I just roam up and down the South shore at all the parks. I found this Yates Corner Store I've heard rumors about, but was unable to locate a "super-secret road to the lake". Perhaps one of the fine folks on here who have been or have shared it with others, would share it with me via PM or something....

I am gonna go on Sunday morning if someone wants to meet up there. I have never used spinner bait or really fished for Bass, if someone wants to give me some tips...

Man with the wife and kids out of town until Sunday night, it is sooooo tempting to call in to work Sunday and make it a 3-day fishing weekend.......it just might happen

I am just now getting into fishing and have been taking off work early every Thursday and Friday. If I didn't have to work Saturday morning, I would go then.
