Fished with Scott Bridges and Bud on Texoma today. Had a great day. Tough fishing, but learned a lot. Shooting lines, sinking lines, stripping baskets, all new to me. great to learn how to fish another way. Did manage to boat many fish , and 1 toad. However, i did break 2 TFO's on the trip. That did amaze me!! Never did that in 1 day. Concerned about the toughness of these rods, but still love them, especially since they are guaranteed!! I guess that can happen to any rod, if I use it.
Oh weel, thanks again Scott for your time on the water. Much appreciated.
Later, troutbum

Hopefully the last pic is downsized. trying to use less space.

No, one broke while liftin a fish out of the water, strange. I thought they were made to do that. The other broke by either the hevy fly hit the rod through my front casts, or broke cause I snagged something behind me on the front casts.

Russ, that must have been some hard, hard angling. Thank goodness for that TFO guarantee! Congrats to you fellas.

If anyone ever wanted to have one and three quarters of a hoot fly fishing, charter a trip with Scott. That grin is for real, I did a few of my own when I went!

It was fun fishing with Bud and Russell. Both of them fish very hard and know how to catch fish. That makes my job easier. TFO takes very good care of me. Those guys rock. New parts will arrive today.

Wow those pics turned out great. I'm getting one of those Olympus camerss. Waterproof/Shockproof. That's what I have to get for my business. I've killed more camera's and cell phones than allowed by law.

Is Bud fishing a fiberglass rod in that photo?
And Russell, exactly what model is your camera?

Yeah...Robin...an old Fenwick. Those rods were designed for lobbing shooting heads. Still great for the job. Guess if I bought an new Graphite rod I could probably cast a lot farther though.

Cool Budd, it's a lovely piece of fishing gear. And for the way y'all were likely fishing, tossing out the lead core and drifting while it sinks, that distance is not so important as getting it in a straight line.

While I am at it I want to put in a little plug for Scott. If you are a fly tosser and want a good shot at a nice striper...This is your guy. His rates are reasonable (cheap actually, considering what it costs to run a boat these days), he is a real pro at putting you over catchable fish (not counting the gars we were sniping at), and he is rigged to accommodate a fly caster. If you are a novice, this is probably your best chance to get into multiple nice sized fish. Having done my time guiding steelhead fishermen, quail hunters, duck hunters, etc., I can spot a first class guide when I run into one. A guide can never guarantee what kind of success you will have on a given day, but I can promise you that Scott will work his butt off to put you into fish. I will be going back when the fish start hittng topwaters......

Caught many a striper at "The Cross"! I can't imagine what it'd be like on a fly!

That's called 'high sticking' and no, fly rods are not meant to lift fish.

Looks like you two had a blast.
