sure I would. I would like to think that most people would.

To keep this short and the bashing at a minimal, we all know that people are being able to fish the lake. You have proven that. I read this topic for updates on the reopening of the lake, not fishing reports. If updates are going to be posted to this topic, it would be nice if they actually pertained to the possible reopening of the lake. Individuals trips to the lake and their catch isn't really news or an announcement and should be posted in the proper forum.

Is this thread still going? This has to be the record for the longest thread in TFF history.

But I think this thread has:

There are major power plants located elsewhere in the country with just as important of places as DFW to power that have people fishing on their cooling lakes.

I agree that there are a million places to fish around here but I'm a big fan of you get what you paid for. If the taxpayers paid for not only the building of the reservoir and to stock it then they should have privalages to it.

If a park was built next to the plant would they kick your children off of the swingset because they could be terrorists?? I bet not the same should apply with the dang lake.

Sac, I agree. But this issue is just so old and discussed, it's almost like someone grinding nails on a chalkboard. They were actually closing the park down prior to 9/11. There is more to this than just terrorists. It has more to do with the property owners outside the gates than anything.

They were talking about closing the gates long before 9/11 the property owners that live right outside the gates have always complained about people lining up to fish early in the morning like 2 a.m., and leaving there trucks running and waking them up I really don`t blame them for complaining most people move out to the country to get away from having to listen to cars and trucks running by there house all night. I wish they would open the Squaw back up I had alot of good times on that lake from fishing to diving but i really don`t believe it will ever happen. This is my only 2 cents.

don't take this post too seriously... I'm not posting it as such... \:\)

Since TXU closed "Squaw Creek", maybe we should all go and protest TXU... Not "ONLY" because they closed it, but because we find the name so offensive and politically incorrect:) \:\) (I don't, but apparently someone does...they should call it tomahawk creek)

I have been reading several posts for months about "Squaw Creek" and TXU closing it. A few days ago, I thought it odd that TXU would have such a close relationship to an area where "Native American's" may find the name politically incorrect. Although I haven't heard about any official protests about places named "Squaw".

I think it is ridicules, but I have seen them protest the "Tomahawk Chop" and the use of "Warriors" for school slogans. I wouldn't use the term Sqauw..

Then today (4/30/2008) I read in the usatoday:
"Moves to eliminate the term "squaw" from names of geographical sites are accelerating because of protests that the term is offensive.

The U.S. Board on Geographic Names has renamed 16 valleys, creeks and other sites so far this year. Pending proposals mean 2008 should see more changes than any year in a decade, the board says. "

I heard today they are letting you take kids this weekend? Sounds far fetched, but thought I'd post here and see if anyone else had heard the same?

They should just rename the lake "Dead Lake" since that is what it really is.
