Big Dale/Brimbum Longview and Tyler both have gun shops. I never thought of them as having ear plugs, although you are right they should carry them. I checked and there is a Grainger locally.

I used to shoot skeet when I was in the navy, never used ear plugs back then. Since I had kids I rarely shoot anymore. I prefer shotguns to pistols...hehehe. (hard to miss with that, and if a burglar is in my house, his backside will get pumped full of lead, if nothing else it will scare the crud outta him..LOL)

Kelkay: When I was a kid I grew up in Kilgore and my first shotgun came from a pawn shop in Longview. I wrote a letter to Santa and told him which pawn shop he could find that old L. C. Smith 12 bore side by side gun in. When I came downstairs that Christmas morning it was leaning against the Christmas tree. I still have most of the box of high brass shells that my Grandmother Cain gave me that Christmas.

It was a different time back in the late 50's. When my nephew was in high school I gave him a 9mm Glock.

Needs change

Dale

You are spot on with that observation. One of the first things Mr Evan ever learned was "gun rules". We go shooting whenever we can (not nearly often enough) and he still points it out when he sees people on TV or in movies that are not following the gun rules.

Makes for a safer, saner world to have people learn at an early age that they are responsible for their actions, that their actions have repercussions.

Just knocked out some Bitch Creek nymphs. These are pretty fishy looking now that I have tied a few and gotten familiar with them.

Wow, Kilgore. My grandma used to live in Kilgore many years ago. When she hit almost retirement age she moved to Longview. My aunt might return to Kilgore one of these days...she grew up there. She had been living in a big city since she graduated from Kilgore College. She is now retiring herself...I hope she comes back to this area.

Robin, let me know how they work for you. Mine is orange and black. It doesn't look just like yours. Yours actually looks better than the one I bought.

Here is my attempt to copy your bitch creek but to be honest I forgot the colors Robin used but I guess great minds think alike thanks for the idea. Next to it is a pheasnt tail nymph and a gold ribed hares ear as well as a elk hare caddis with a slight change to it.

Sorry I know the pics suck but its the best I can get out of my camera. rolleyes

Olive and black are always good colors as are chartreuse and hten orange and olive.

I guess you don't have a macro setting on your camera? The little flower icon?
